If you wish to create wood panelling the above list need to be of solid wood all of the same type and hue. These wood planks from timeline wood that are available at the home depot are pre finished and cut into 5 in. We are on a plank a pallooza and are all about a good wood plank wall. Select the type of paneling you like best as there are many wood options to choose among.

Cut doors down to consistent widths. Measure the room you would like to install paneling in so you can calculate exactly how much you need to purchase. Dividing the panels at dado height will provide a small ledge for a display. Here we ve used panels measuring around 50 x 50cm created by attaching strips of 2 x 1in timber.

How to build custom wall paneling step 1. Below the dado we ve added 2 x 1inch timber with 2 inch gaps. The dado shelf is in 2 x 1in timber with a small moulding attached. Divide the wall into equal sections so that the panel inside the rails and stiles has a height width ratio of about 1 to 1 6 vertical to horizontal.

Lay it out with masking tape and move the tape until you re satisfied.
